Good to know
Find a chord progression to start from
The chord progression generator writes a progression from a key, a mode and a style, lets you hear it with a keyboard or plucked sound, and exports it as MIDI for your DAW.
What each setting does
- Key and mode
- The tonal centre of the progression and whether it is major or minor.
- Style
- The musical idiom that shapes which chords are chosen and how they move.
- Instrument
- Keys or pluck, for how the preview sounds while you listen.
- Tempo
- How fast the preview plays; the generated chords do not depend on it.
- Generate and loop
- Produces a new progression in the chosen key and style, and loops the preview while you listen.
- Export MIDI
- Writes a MIDI file in the browser so the progression can be opened in your own project.
