Stereo phase check
Check what happens when the left and right channels become one. This tool analyzes a stereo recording, plots correlation over time, and lets you compare stereo playback with a mono fold-down. It is useful when a wide chorus sounds unexpectedly weak on a single speaker, or when layered parts might cancel each other. Read the trend alongside the left, right, and mono levels rather than treating one number as a verdict. Window size changes how quickly the analysis responds, and very quiet passages provide little useful evidence. Processing stays in your browser. The page helps you locate and hear possible compatibility problems; it does not automatically repair phase or certify a mix for release.
What each setting does
- Analysis window
- Choose 1024, 2048, or 4096 samples. Shorter windows expose quick changes; longer windows provide steadier readings.
- Correlation and mono loss
- Correlation describes channel similarity. Mono loss compares the summed signal with the louder channel; inspect audible passages in context.
- Stereo and mono playback
- Switch between the original stereo image and the averaged left/right signal to hear which musical details change.

A few useful answers
No. Some wide effects produce negative values briefly. Listen for loss of important vocals, bass, or instruments when summed to mono.
