Piano isolation for voicings, melody and accompaniment

Piano isolation brings a piano part forward so that you can hear its role inside a larger arrangement. It returns piano and other, making it useful for studying an accompaniment, following a melody above chords, or checking how the left-hand bass moves through a progression. A piano spans a wide register and combines sharp attacks with long, overlapping decays. That means a convincing result should preserve more than the bright top notes: low notes, inner chord tones and pedal sustain all matter to the musical phrase. This dedicated mode is a different choice from six-stem separation, which provides piano as one group in an overview of the full arrangement. It is also narrower than keys, which targets a broader family of keyboard instruments. Use the piano output as a listening aid rather than an automatically correct transcription. Guitar plucks can enter at the attack, orchestral layers can mask inner voices, and reverberant notes may continue in other. Compare a quiet chord with a dense passage, then check the original before deciding on a fingering, chord inversion or note duration. For an explicitly electronic piano tone, compare the digital-piano mode as well.

Listen forCheck whether low piano notes remain distinct from bass. Listen for missing inner chord tones rather than only the top melody. Follow pedal and room tails for abrupt gaps or notes displaced into other.

A few useful answers

No. It returns separated audio. A clear stem may help your own transcription, but note names and rhythm still need verification.
